Day 5 January 14th Saint Lucia

Day 5 Saint Lucia-Today we took a tour of the island. We stopped at a waterfall, got to see amazing views of St. Lucia, rode a boat to a private beach in between the Piton Mt. Peaks where we snorkeled and laid out. We got to sample a lot of great local food including fishcakes, mango, avocado, banana ketchup, fried chicken, coconut candy, fudge, guava cheese, mystery fruit, etc. We saw the Piton Mountains and stopped at an active volcano (looked just like Yellowstone). After the beach, on our way back, our tour guide, Jean Claude, stopped at local bakery where we got to eat hot bread with cheese. It was very yummy. This tour was really fun-one of the best.
Lots of movies were filmed here

Another night of yummy food and lots of dessert

And here is the dessert...I think we need a little bit more.

Day 6 January 15-Saint Kitts

Day 6 Saint Kitts--Lindsey, Brandon, Wes, and I met our tour guide around 8:30 am. He drove us to the other side of the island where we hiked up a dormant volcano. It was beautiful. We were the only ones in the tour group and the only ones on the mountain the whole time. We got to swing on a fun rope swing and at the top of the hike we had ginger beer (non-alcoholic and very different) and local coconut bread and raisin bread. It was great. We drove through lots of villages and also got to stop at a beach and lay out afterwards. This was definitely one of the best days.

Fail or Win?

"Crackers" on the left was David's friend. He has lived on the island his whole life and has never hiked the volcano so he came along too. David was a great tour guide.

The Atlantic Ocean on the left and the Pacific Ocean on the right. This was one of the best views.

Don't I look like Chelsea in this pic?
Sail away ice cream. Goodbye Saint Kitts

Eating Again?? You betcha!

Day 7 January 16 Saint Maarten

Today we had a lazy day relaxing on the beach. We took a ferry with Brandon and Lindsey to a beach-can't remember the name. We laid out (the weather was fabulous) and read our books and took naps. Lindsey and I found a little Belgium chocolate shop and indulged ourselves in some of the best chocolate I have ever had. We brought our husbands back some Stroopwafels (waffle cone with carmel in between and partly dipped in chocolate). It was a very relaxing day.
Lindsey and I in front of our ship. She is the best!

Last day of lounging
Beautiful beach

Time to leave
Last sunset on our cruise
Last night of dressing up for dinner and being waited on.

Day 8 January 17 San Juan PR

We packed our bags Saturday night and got up Sunday morning, ate breakfast and waited with Brandon and Lindsey until they called our number to get off the ship. We grabbed a goodbye ice cream cone and took a taxi to the airport. Then we flew the long flight back to Utah, anxious to see our kids, but sad that our vacation was over. It was so much fun!

Southern Caribbean Cruise 2010 Day 1 Jan 10

Wes and I went on a 7 day Southern Caribbean Cruise with our friends Lindsey and Brandon. We had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect and we did really fun things. We got on the ship in San Juan Puerto Rico on Sunday afternoon and the first thing we did was.....you guessed it, went to the Buffet to get something to eat. And the vacation begins. We sailed out around 10 pm.

Day 2 January 11-Saint Thomas

On Day 2 we stopped in St. Thomas and around 10am we took a taxi across the island to Magen's Bay Beach where we laid out and relaxed pretty much all day. It was really great because it was a little bit cloudy so just as it was getting too hot, a cloud would roll by and cool us off. It was the perfect weather. I fell asleep on the beach. We got back to the ship around 4, ate lunch, and watched the ship sail away around 5 pm while we ate our sail-away ice cream cones. Then we met up with Brandon and Lindsey for dinner.
