White Rim Bike Trip-Day 1, 18 miles

Saturday May 2: Day 1 White Rim Bike Trip: We left the kids this morning around 9am. They had a fun weekend with Grandma Susie. We headed down to Moab and it rained hard the entire drive down. We met up with our group-15 people including us,(5 women, 10 guys) at Dead Horse Point in Canyonlands Nat'l Park. It rained the whole way up there. We were getting nervous. As soon as we started biking it turned beautiful and we had great weather the entire trip. We biked 18 miles the first day to our campsite. We got there around 7pm. It was a good ride and a good day. We had steak, salad, and baked beans for dinner with cheesecake for dessert. It tasted sooooo good out there.
Jackson and Londie right before we left.
The turnoff to Canyonlands-look at the menacing cloud in the sky
This is out of order, but look at the cool arch in the clouds-very fitting...
In the parking lot preparing for the ride-dark clouds overhead
Right after we started biking-look at the clouds now...
Beautiful La Salle Mt Range-I am in the corner if you look close
Wes and the road below that we biked on

The road we rode in on...ha ha ha
Mussleman Arch-neither Wes or I would walk across it even tho it was about 6 feet wide. One of the girls in our group did handstand on it. We weren't there to see that and I am glad. I would have freaked out. (The arch is in the background of the pic, but it kind of blends in)
Beautiful View

Me looking off the edge of a cliff-don't worry, I look closer than I actually was
First campsite at a place called Airport

I swear you are the most active family. Always some new adventure on your blog. You're our inspiration for our time out west which is coming faster and faster. There just isn't the terrain or scenery out here.

It looks so fun --- but also a bit scary. Do you think an old Oregon Coast biker could do it?
