Happy Birthday Lulu! February 15

Happy 28th Birthday Lulu! We love you and hope you had a great day. These pictures make us miss you so much! You are such a fun aunt and a wonderful sister!

Love my Vitamix!

This is my new Vitamix and I love it so much! It makes the best smoothies ever-better than jamba juice and my kids love it! I love it too since I know they are eating healthy things. Like if they don't eat fruit all day or vegies, I just whip them up one of these! I put vanilla yogurt, frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, an orange, a banana, some carrots and orange juice. It tastes fabulous! Also, I make a greens drink for myself and I can get all my vegetables for the day in one drink. Yes, sometimes it's hard to gag it down, but it's healthy. And a regular blender does not even compare. I highly recommend this product. It's a great investment!
London is very happy with her smoothie
Both J and L are happily awaiting their very first smoothie at home. Jackson, especially. Grandma has one of these and when we go visit, the first thing he wants is Grandma to make him a smoothie. Now he can have them at home.

Making Bread with Vitamix

We made our first loaf of whole wheat bread in the Vitamix. It all started last Spring. My dad planted the wheat and nurtured it all summer. He then harvested it in the fall, and we drove up to Rexburg filled up a bucket and took it home. Then, this morning, Wes cleaned out the chaf with a blow dryer, and we dumped it in the vitamix.
We ground it up for 2 minutes and it was ready.
Then, we poured in the rest of the ingredients and the vitmix kneaded it. Then we plopped it into the pan and let it rise.
Voila! Fresh whole wheat homemade bread!
It looks kind of flat, but I think I just put it in a pan that was too big. It was actually very good for my first time.

Valentine's Weekend

We had a fun Valentine's weekend. On Saturday, Wes went shooting and skiing. I went to class, then played with the kids all day. On Sunday Jeffrey and Kathleen came over for dinner. It was fun to visit them. They played the Wii with Jackson. Jackson beat Kath at bowling and he also beat Jeffrey at golf, can you believe that?

The Office

We love The Office. Since we got Tivo, we are able to catch up on all the episodes we missed in seasons past and watch the new ones. Our all-time favorite clip (besides when Jim and Pam kiss for the first time) is this scene with Dwight when Jim has just transferred to another office. So here it is. What's your favorite scene?

Fun times

Just thought I'd post a few recent pictures of the kids. I have been really busy with school and with teaching piano lessons and being a mom that I haven't had a lot of time to blog. So here are a few of my favorite pictures from the last couple of weeks.
Fun in the tub

Sledding-Daddy got some great pics of the kids up the canyon.

Terrible 2s...

Ok, so today is the official first day of London using sentences--that is, if you define sentences as 2 words put together. She has been using 2 words together all day. My favorite one was when she was carrying around a little backpack on her back and she found a little toy cow. She took the backpack off, put the cow inside, turned around and looked at me and said, "Moo moo ba-paCK." With the emphasis on the "ck" at the end. It was so cute.
Also, I thought the terrible 2's weren't supposed to start till age 2. Well, I am realizing this week that they are starting now. Here are just a few of the things she has done over the last 2 days.
1. Standing on a chair against the fridge pushing the water dispenser button as water streamed out onto the floor. (I'm not sure how long she did this, but from the amount of water on the floor, it was a long time--I was in the shower when it happened).
2. During my piano-lesson teaching today, she pulled every cushion off both our couches and put them in the middle of the room. The cushions are huge...she is small...??????
3. During another one of my lessons, the aroma of baby powder started wafting towards me so I got up to check it out....she was in her room on her changing table with powder ALL over-like an entire bottle while she gleefully squirted lotion from the pump bottle. There was lotion and powder EVERYWHERE!
4. Today I thought she was downstairs playing with Jackson and then I heard a little noise in the bathroom-so I peeked in and what you see in the picture below is what I saw--a naked rugrat brushing her teeth. Here is what she does: She takes off all her clothes and diaper, sits on the toilet and attempts to go to the bathroom. She then puts tons of toilet paper in the toilet, flushes, then gets up and brushes her teeth. Now, this doesn't seem very naughty. but after doing this about 15 times a day, it starts to get exhausting...for me. I am sure it is great fun for her.
I am sure this is just the beginning...
Here we have the pretty princess who is quickly turning into a tasmanian devil. (This was taken in August)
Cinderella London and Cinderella Emery (a friend)
I was trying to get London to smile so I told her to show me her teeth. It worked pretty well. I highly recommend it.
And here we have her brushing her teeth for about the 10th time today after successfully undressing herself for the 10th time today.

Sledding

We went sledding with Jim and Lindsey and Jenny and Jordan on Saturday and here are some pictures from it. It was fun. Also, our children are not attached to binkies at all...

Houseguest

My parents went on a 2-week vacation and we get to babysit their little boston terrior, Lucy. It is great for the kids and for me. We get to have a pet without actually paying for her or shots or food and stuff. And when I get tired of her after a couple weeks she gets to leave. Actually, she's not bad at all. She is housetrained very well, is very mellow, loves to snuggle, and has a pretty good tolerance to my kids when they are bugging her. Here she is in here little kennel. She absolutely hates it. I only put her in to take the pictures. I think it is too small for her though.

Ahhhhh, relaxation at last...
I love these Adidas outfits my mom got for the kids. They are so cute on them.

Saying goodbye to Steve and Dana. We were sad to see them go.

We picked Uncle Sam up from the airport (he was in New Hampshire visiting a friend) on New Year's night and he is staying with us this weekend. It is really fun to have him stay with us. He is such a good help with the kids, and also knows a lot about electronics so I have him fix everything I can think of like my computer or help out with problems I'm having with our tv or tivo or ipod or whatnot. It's actually quite nice. Thanks Sam, we love you.
