Sledding a the Rexburg Sand Dunes

Sledding in Rexburg

Jackson and Daddy sledding at the sand dunes. They had tons of fun.

Rexburg, Idaho Temple

We went to Rexburg over the weekend and had a great time. We went to the Rexburg Temple open house early Saturday morning and had a great breakfast with our families. Then Wes and Jackson went sledding at the sanddunes with Paula's family and I got to go shopping with my mom and sister. We had a great time despite the 2 degree temperature. We swam at Green Canyon and had lots of fun. The temple was beautiful and we got to take Jackson. He was very interested, especially in the baptismal font with the oxen. He talked and talked and talked about being baptized and having his sins washed away. It was really sweet. It was a cold, but fun weekend.

London-9 months!

London is 9 months old today and growing fast. She is crawling like crazy and takes steps while holding onto the couch. She loves Jackson, but knows when to cry and get him in trouble. She also loves to eat, especially finger foods! I guess she really is a Wood! We love having little girl!

January Fun

Just wanted to post some pics of some of the fun things we have been doing lately.
London loves trying on Daddy's UPS hat. We were experimenting with what our camera can do.

We have taken Jackson swimming at least 4 times this month and he is getting so good at jumping in the water. Just look at his form!
Jackson's first day of Primary! He didn't want to smile when we took his camera, but finally pulled off this huge cheesy grin. He looked so cute sitting with his class and teachers. I wanted to sit with him and watch him the entire time, but I think the teachers wouldn't have liked that.
Jackson and London: best friends, playing in the covers.

Our Cruise Day 1-Ft. Lauderdale

Ok, here it is everyone! The Wood family Cruise-2008. We started off in Ft. Lauderdale and headed to Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. We were all really excited to get away and relax for a full week. We had lots of fun and it was nice to be with the family too. Here we are waiting to get on the ship-and sailing away!

New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year! We had a really fun dinner-sadly without my mom as she was seasick all night. We partied till we dropped. Just kidding. We stayed up anyway. It was fun with everyone yelling and screaming and spilling their champagne all over us. That part was really fun.

Slackline!

I wouldn't be a nice sister if I didn't create a post dedicated entirely to the slack line. My brother, Sam carried his slackline everywhere with him and tried to do it, every chance he got. All he talked about was slacklining. And he carried the ropes around with him everywhere. Someone on the ship saw him and asked me if he was going to do some mountain climbing-and I just replied, "No, sir, he just likes to carry around the ropes...he is a little weird." Anyway, for those who don't know what it is, it is a hobby developed by rockclimbers. Most people who are into climbing like it. It is kind of like tightrope walking, but only a few feet off the ground-or water in this case. Sam, Wes, Bryan, Riley, and Chel all did it. Most everyone in the pics are falling off--no one made it all the way. Sam made it the furthest.

More Key West

Here are a few more pics of Key West. All the buildings were so cute and fun. The sunset that night was beautiful.

Cruise Day 2-Key West, FL

We were only in Key West for a half a day. We went snorkeling on some reef that is supposedly great and wonderful and "The third largest reef in the Americas" or something like that. Anyway, it was fun, but didn't seem all that spectacular. It wasn't colorful or anything like we thought it would be. We didn't even see any turtles. But it was a nice day and fun to be in the ocean. My mom got soooo sick on the snorkel excursion and was confined to her bed the rest of the day and night. Oh, sad! And it was New Years! We celebrated the New Year in the middle of the ship with several hundred screaming drunk people. Fun! Actually it was pretty fun. Had we been at home, we probably wouldn't have even stayed up to celebrate. Did I mention my dad is handicapped?

Cruise Day 3-Cozumel

Day3-Cozumel! Cozumel was beautiful. The weather was great. We went to the Tulum Mayan Ruins on the mainland-which pretty much took all day. It was really neat, but I wished we could have gone swimming and laid out since it was such a nice day. The ruins were right on some cliffs above the ocean and it was so pretty. Everyone should see some ruins. They are neat. Our tour guide-ok, so I can't remember his name-anyway he was really funny and knew a lot about the ruins. It was very interesting. I am doing such a mom pose in the second picture-Ahhh!

Cruise Day 4-evening

After dinner, we went out on the upper deck and it was so windy, those words don't even show you how windy it was. We almost got blown off the ship. Maybe I can post a video. We will see. Anyway, here are some pics of me, Sam, and Wes in the wind.

Our Cruise Day 4-Grand Cayman

Day 4-We stopped in Grand Cayman. This was going to be the funnest place I thought--and then then storm moved in. It was so windy, the captain told us we only had 2 hours on the island, thus we had to cancel our way fun excursion to Sting Ray City. After mosy-ing around for a couple hours we headed back to the ship only to wait in line to get on a tender back to the ship for 5 hours. Yes, we waited in line for 5 hours at which point they decided the waves were too big to load people. So they bused everyone-hundreds of people-to the other side of the island and the ship cruised around the island to pick us up on the other side. It was soooo much fun! We loved every minute of it! Hardy har har!

Our Cruise Day 5

We were supposed to go to Jamaica today, but it was so windy that the swells were "too big" so we couldn't stop-or so they say. It was really sad, but it was worth it--they credited a whopping $4.16 back to our account for not stopping in Jamaica. Wahoo! We just relaxed all day, and ate a lot. You know, the usual on a cruise. This is our waiter, Louis, and his wife, Jade from Trinidad. She was our assistant waiter. They were really nice. The next day-day 6, we didn't stop anywhere, just relaxed, ate and read books. I don't think we took any pics.

Fun in the Snow!

These pics were actually taken about a month before Christmas. London and Jackson loved playing in the snow. They had a great time!
