White Rim Bike Trip-Day 2, 30 miles

This morning we woke up to a beautiful crisp morning at 6:30 am. We ate cold cereal for breakfast and headed out around 8:20am, and man were our butts sore-the bones, not the muscles. We had to ride about 30 miles today. Most of it was slightly uphill, so it made for a hard workout. We stopped at a place called White Crack and ate lunch around 12pm. We had chicken salad sandwiches and they were yuummmmy! Then right before we reached our campsite, we had to climb Murphy's Hogback, a very steep long hill. I biked a little of it and had to walk most of it. Wes biked the whole thing....of course. We got to the campsite around 3pm and waited for others to show up. One of the trucks broke down and we were all really worried, but they got it running soon so that was good. We had chicken with pasta and pesto sauce for dinner with cherry cobbler for desert. It was very gourmet. Then some of us did yoga on a big rock afterwards. It was fun and the view was to-die-for-beautiful!
Wes and I love this picture. Isn't the cactus beautiful?
Wes and I stopped for a photo. This is as close to the edge as I will get. It is kind of scary. The road sometimes goes right by the edge.

The beautiful White Rim in Canyonlands
White Crack lookout-don't worry, we were not right on the edge. It just looks like it. The view from White Crack is spectacular. You stand on this rock and look around you and all you see is beautiful pristine canyon for miles and miles. It is really breathtaking. And the pics do not do it justice at all.
Wes is crazy....I will say no more about it...

Me riding up Murphy's Hog back. Wes rode all the way up and I think only one other guy rode all the way up without stopping. However Wes had the camera most of the time so I didn't get a picture of him riding up any hills, but he was awesome.

Yay, we did it!

Nice smile!
Relaxing in camp
Wes doing the dishes-this is a rare thing in our house. But he is pretty good at dishes when we are camping.

White Rim Bike Trip-Day 3, 40 miles

It rained all night and we thought today's ride was going to be awful, but it was a gorgeous day. We started around 7:45am and we biked almost 40 miles today. It was a lot of down hill, but some hard uphills as well. We stopped at a slot canyon to take some pics, then ate lunch around noon at the top of a real hard hill climb called Hardscrabble. Wes and I drove in the truck after lunch for the last leg of the trip-about 15 miles or so out of the canyon. It was a great trip and I hope we get to do it again sometime.
Beautiful View of the White Rim
Wes about to fall off a cliff....just kidding, he had plenty of room.

Bye Bye Bee-bee!

I know many of you have been waiting for this moment-you know who you are...
Last night London finally said goodbye to her binkies (bee-bee).
We tied one of her bee-bee's to a helium-filled balloon and told her that the babies in heaven needed her bee-bee, so she had to say goodbye. Then she let go of the balloon and it drifted up to heaven. She went to bed just perfectly fine and was a little cranky this morning when she asked for bee-bee and I told her there was no more bee-bee. It was pretty easy though. I highly recommend the cold-turkey style of getting rid of things. Now, if I could just implement that with Jackson and his sippy cup...
Bye Bye bee-bee!

Last picture with Bee-bee
Ok, really this is the last picture with Bee-bee. As you can see, it is tied to the balloon all ready to go.

Right afterward when we walked in the house. She wasn't sure what to think, but I sure love the little expression on her face!

Nursing Program a No Go

Ok, so I thought I would let everyone know that I did not get into the nursing program I applied for this fall. I know it was a long shot, but I was still kind of sad. There, so if I forgot to tell you over the phone, then hopefully you will read it on here. I also just finished my chemistry class and my nutrition class. I am pretty sure I have A's in both classes. I am actually very very surprised about my chemistry A. Everytime I got a test score back I was shocked. I never knew I had it in me...
Now, since I didn't get into the program, I can finish up my prereqs in the next year, have a fun carefree summer with fun vacations that I won't have to miss, and possibly go on a cruise in January. And I can focus on being a fun mom this summer and taking my kiddos to the pool a lot. It's a hard life being a mom...

Happy Birthday London-2 years old!

Sorry these aren't in order. London had a fun birthday. We didn't do much during the day but Jackson and I sang Happy Birthday to her more than I can count. Then Wes got home from work and we went to McDonald's for icecream. However, when we got there, we realized we had both forgotten our wallets and so we had to turn around. We had ordered the icecream and then we just drove away. The look on London's face was so sad! She just didn't understand! So we drove all the way back home and then went back and she got her little kiddie cone. I didn't make a cake because frankly, my kids would have taken 2 bites, my husband would have eaten 1 piece, and the rest of it would have been staring at me in the face all week long. Too tempting.
London opened her presents. She got a fridge phonics thing that sings the alphabet and makes the sound of each letter, a babydoll with a little crib, and a Dora purse.

These pics were taken in the morning on her birthday. Both J and L got Spongebob shirts for their birthdays so here they are in their matching shirts and shorts.

Grandma Nye sent London a sweet card and a pretty pillowcase. She loves it! She looks sad in this picture cause she fell off a chair and then I picked her up and set her on the counter to take the picture. She wouldn't give me a smile though.

Precious Pics

Here is a taste of what has gone on the last couple of weeks. I realize I am not in one single picture-that is because I am always the one taking the picture.
Wes got a load of dirt for the garden. There is nothing like a big pile of dirt that will call all the neighbor kids over.
Jackson with his new bow and arrows made from pvc pipe.

Wes holding his "baby." He is one hot man with a gun!

I love Jackson's big smile above, and I love this picture of the kids below. London actually looked at the camera.

Hello 1980's

Jackson sure has a lot of confidence...
