Camping with Daddy

I took a Certified Nursing Assistant program that was 9 days long all day every day and also included going to a rehab center and doing clinicals over the weekend...so Wes took the kids camping on the weekend and gave me a wonderful break. So here are some pics from their camping trip.

Jackson Graduates Preschool May 25th

Jackson graduated from preschool at the end of May so I thought I'd post some pics since he looks so cute. Good Job Jackson! His teacher gave nicknames to all the students that went along with their personalities and Jackson was named Mr. Talkative. She said he never stops telling stories.
Here he is with his good buddy Dayton
Getting ready....he looks a little cross-eyed here...

Provo River Trail 10 Mile Run

I have no camera, but I stole this from Lindsey's blog. Lindsey and I ran the Provo Trail 10 mile race last Saturday. It was so much fun running it with a friend. I was worried about doing a 10 mile race since it seems so long, but running with a friend made it a breeze. I really think I could do a 1/2 marathon or even a full marathon if I had Lindsey to do it with me.....well maybe not a full.... We finished 241 out of 366 (?) but we were just running for fun. I probably could have done it faster if I had wanted to be puking my guts out and peeing my pants at the end of the race. But that just didn't sound very fun. We had a great time. Thanks Lindsey, for running it with me. It wouldn't have been near as much fun without you.

Camera Dead!

We left our camera charger in Rexburg over Memorial Day weekend and our camera is dead. So I haven't posted in a while because I have no pictures to post. So I will try to get a charger, but I don't really want to pay for one and my mom can't find ours in Rexburg. Does anyone (close by to me (I have to add that because my sister has an extra one, but she is clear over in Grand Cayman)) have an extra Canon Powershot SD750 camera charger laying around not being used..........?????

Memorial Day Weekend-May 25

There are a lot of pictures, but I posted so many mostly for Laura. I got home from running on Friday morning and peeked into my bedroom and this is what I saw...

We got to Rexburg late Friday night. Saturday morning Wes went on a short motorbike ride with my dad. Grandpa David (below)
Wes decked out in his motorbike attire

Then we headed out to Grandpa Nye's house and the kids had a blast out there working in the yard, shooting Grandpa's carbyde cannon and playing with the hose water.

Londie and Jacks in Grandpa Nye's backyard

Then we went out past Beaver Dick Park and went shooting with Grandma and Grandpa and Kent, a friend, and his little girl Andi who Jackson and London adored.

Me shooting Kent's gun-I don't know what it was, AK-47?

Wes shooting the .22

Then we were back at Grandpa Wood's for a birthday/going away party for my brother, Sam, who is leaving for OCS (the Marines) this summer. Don't worry, he will be back in the fall for school. Me in front of the pizza....where else would I be?Jackson and Sam

Lighting the candles...J and L were just as close as they could possible get

Jackson had to go to time out for ringing the doorbell about 100 times while Uncle Sam was asleep. London decided to sit right down next to him.

This pic is out of place. Paula, Aspen, and Dillon on our way out to the cemetary on Monday.

On Saturday we went to Yellowstone to Old Faithful. We were going to stay at the cabin, but the pipes were broken so there was no water. So we just spent the day up there.

On Monday we spent the day at the Nye's. London making funny faces

Family picture at the cemetary on Memorial Day. Wes' brother, John, is buried here.

All the cousins who were there.

And finally, playing at the Sand Dunes on Monday afternoon with everyone. The kids had the most fun here I think. I am still finding sand in their clothes and in my car. Jackson making a huge leap.

Can anyone guess what this is?

Jackson found one of these looking exactly like this today on our front porch underneath an overhang of cement by the stairs. They were very very tiny, you could hardly see them. He showed me and I started freaking out and I wanted to hurry and get the bug spray and kill them all. We got to see them actually being born--squirming out of their little cacoon. It was a Discovery Channel moment. I was worried they were spiders or some type of bug that would eat all our flowers. Then I looked closer and thought they were grass hoppers. Then Jackson looked very closely and said, "Look Mommy, they are Praying Mantis!"
All of a sudden they became "cute" to me. As cute as baby bugs can get I guess. I kept saying to Jackson, "Don't touch them, leave them alone, look how cute they are!" Now, pretty much the only reason I wanted to save their poor little lives is because Praying Manti eat other bugs. Any bug that eats spiders and flies and mosquitos and fruit flies can live on my porch anytime. So the whole thing was over in a matter of minutes and I think it was pretty cool that me and Jacks got to witness it all. Keep in mind, had it been any other bug, they would all be dead by now by my bug spray.

Jackson's elbow wound

This is the video of Jackson scraping his elbow. It doesn't happen until the end, but his reaction is so funny....I think it is anyway.

Random pictures of the last few days

Jacks was riding his bike on a board up and down our front steps and he fell against the side of the stucco wall and scraped his elbow. He was fine until he saw the blood....then this pic was the result with a lot of crying until we got a bandaid on it.
Nice summer attire. He is ready to go mogy-biking....Grandpa, you ready?

Jacks put all of Londons bows and barretts in her hair. It was really funny. And she was so patient. They make a good team.
Here is Jacks "rock-a-baby-ing" London. She wasn't asleep, but she held perfectly still so Jackson could rock her and tickle her face. I love it when they get along.....which is hmmm... about 50 % of the time.
